Hi, I’m Rory.

I’m an energy and technology leader building partnerships and programs for the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). Most recently, I developed the Maryland Data Center Energy Efficiency Program which was one of four nominees for the 2018 Data Center Industry Initiative of the Year

I’ve spent some time speaking about various energy topics, from Microgrids to data centers. I also attend many conferences around the globe to continue developing relationships and building the conversation on energy efficiency. I also like to lead by example by building energy programs, such as the Maryland Combined Heat and Power, that represent best practices. Additionally, I like to write about successes in the industry

I have been an entrepreneur, co-founding an online data storage company when I was 17, and helped grow a startup energy services company in the Mid-Atlantic. I was elected to local government at 18 and also helped advise an incubator for startups as a student at Penn State.

While at Penn State I was president of the International Affairs and Debate Association and was Secretary-General for the Pennsylvania United Nations Conference. I also hold an MBA from Mississippi State University (Go Dawgs).

I’m an avid travel hacker, finding amazing deals to travel around the world. This has allowed my wife and me to travel to places like Mexico City for $100 or Ireland for $150. We also have a pet house rabbit, Skylar, and are active volunteers in the House Rabbit Society.
